Today the vet is giving shots and floating teeth. This is Athena’s first trip to the dentist. She has an overbite and the vet thinks he can help her teeth develop by floating early.

Dr. Kolb is filing away.

Today was another beautiful day and everyone decided to wash their horses.

Barb was letting Stetson dry.

And came over to keep Cody company.

While everyone else was washing, Taylor thought it was a good time to ride.

October 11 was one of these amazing fall days. The temperature was in the 70s, the colors perfect and everyone grabbed onto it knowing it wouldn’t last.

Things looked pretty picture perfect.

We brought the horses back into Mandy’s yard, so they could eat down the tall grass.

Happy times.

Chuck and I went up to Devil’s Lake to do a little treasure hunting.

This shelf mushroom looks like a stingray.

A funny little group of brown mushrooms.

A major showing on a dead log.

This one looked like a beautiful flower. I think it is a member of the Oyster Mushroom group.

Here’s a mushroom in the Hericiaceae Family. It is a coral tooth. We brought this one home to eat. It wasn’t that great.

Here’s a really large shelf mushroom. The maple leaf is to let you know how big it is.

Just one of the many beautiful trails at Devil’s Lake.

This mushroom actually has gills, there’s just a delicate covering over them.

Pretty mushrooms on the log.

Little tiny mushrooms.

These mushrooms have taken on the color of moss.

I love they way they have grown along this log.

So beautiful, but I wouldn’t eat these myself. I stay away from mushrooms with gills.

Lucky for all you horse fans, mushroom season is just about over.

(October 10, 2008) Here’s Taylor, up early to clean stalls before school starts. I can hear her telling her kids one day “when I was your age, I had to clean stalls in the morning, in the dark before school started. Then I had to walk to school up hill both ways. ”

(October 9, 2008) Cooper is inside for the day, enjoying his oats and hay.

(October 8, 2008) Triton is wondering why I’m bothering him.

(October 7, 2008) Life in the pasture.

(October 6, 2008) Royce is stall bound because of “scratches” and a swollen tendon. He’s just watching the days go by while eating lots of hay.

(October 5, 2008) Finally! Sarah says. Here’s Cody wondering where you are.

(October 4, 2008) An early October frost, letting us know of things to come.

(October 3, 2008) You’ll see a lot of Royce because it is early and dark, so it is difficult to photograph the others. Since he’s inside, he makes for a nice photo.

(October 2, 2008) Here’s Amber wondering what’s going on. She was kicked out of her stall temporarily.

(October 1, 2008) I really liked the sky pattern. Good thing they didn’t meet at the x.

(October 1, 2008) A boy and a dog. This picture makes me smile.
